Nigeria is a place for academics but the economic system has made it pretty difficult for some good things to thrive.
Nevertheless, there are still easy courses one can study in Nigerian universities. As I continue, I will painstakingly buttress each of these courses.
Doing this will help to give one a brief overview of what the courses are all about. However, I enjoin us to further do personal research about the courses for in-depth understanding and requirements for any chosen academic expedition.
Easiest Course to Study in Nigeria Universities
1. Philosophy
Philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, existence, and reality, especially when considered an academic field discipline.
Philosophy is among the most simplest and easiest courses in Nigerian universities, the course belongs to the faculty of Arts.
Admission requirements are; Five O-level credit passes which include English language, Biology, Health Science, and at least a pass in mathematics. Philosophy also requires little or no calculation.
2. Â Mass communication
This is the study of communicating with the masses but is also about the narration of stories with strategy and purpose.
The study of mass communication is bordered around how messages persuade and affect the behavior and worldview of the person or people receiving the content.
Mass communication is one of the common courses among Nigerian students.
However, mass communication is renowned for its easygoing nature, thus is also easy to study in Nigerian universities and other higher institutions.
The requirements are five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English, and an approved science subject.
A pass in Mathematics is required. Maas communication also requires no calculation.
3. History
History is the study of people, culture, and past events. History is the study of people, interactions, actions, decisions, and behaviors.
History is among the smooth-going courses you can study in any Nigerian university.
More so, history has low competition and therefore guarantees chances of gaining admission. Fall in the faculty of arts & humanities, admission to study history is five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Geography, Government/History.
4. Geology
Geology is another less difficult and less competitive course to study in a Nigerian university.
It is the study of the Earth’s surface, the rocks of which it is composed, and the processes by which they change over the course of time.
In Africa, Geology is not a well-recognized course of study.
O-level requirements are Five (5)Â SSCE credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and any other subject.
5. Geography
Mother of all environmental science disciplines is unarguably among the easygoing, simplest and smooth courses for science students.
To study B.sc in geography you need Five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any three subjects from Arts or Social Sciences.
As a science subject also, geography requires just a little calculation during the course.
6. Sociology
Sociology as social science course is bothered around the study of society and human behavior and relationships. Sociology is one of the simple courses to study in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
Under the faculty of social and management sciences, the prerequisite for admission to study sociology are; Five (5) O-level credit passes in Government, History, English Language, and three other subjects.
At least a pass in Mathematics is necessary. Sociology does not require calculation during the course.
7. Political science
Political science can be found faculty of social sciences it is currently one of the easy going courses you can study in the Nigerian university.
Admission requisites include; Five (5) O-level credit passes which include English, Government, History and any two other Arts or Social sciences. Political science requires no calculation.
Sociology as a social science discipline is concerned with the study of society and human behavior and relationships.
8. Zoology
Many students in Nigeria have developed this aversion for Zoology as a course. I bet many students don’t even like the fact that it is mentioned.
There is even the belief that Zoology is only for people who missed their choice course. However, zoology is an easy going course.
To study Zoology one needs the following in their O level; Â Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Mathematics, Health Science any other social science subject.
9.  Biochemistry
Biochemistry is one of the easiest courses to study in the university.
It borders around chemical and physics-chemical processes and substances that occur within living things. To some scholars, Biochemistry is known as biological chemistry.
The prerequisite for studying are Five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, any other social science subject.
8. Computer Science
Computer Science is one of the simple courses to study in Nigerian tertiary institutions both universities and polytechnic including colleges of Education.
This course is found under the faculty of Applied sciences, admission prerequisite to study computer science are; Five (5) O level credit passes in Mathematics physics, chemistry or Biology, and English Language and three other subjects.
9. Library and Information
Science Library and information science is of course and indeed one of the simple courses one can study in a Nigerian university.
Library and information science can be studied in different faculties, under the faculty of education.
To study library and information science you will need Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two any other science subjects.
10. Religious Studies
Nigeria practices two religions Islam and Christianity, they are easy to study in Nigerian universities because an average Nigerian has a background about his religion making it easy to study it in any institution.
Situated in the faculty of arts and humanities, Christian Religious Knowledge/Islamic Religious Studies, and any two other subjects. the general admission requirements.
Religious studies require no calculation during the course of the study. O-level requirements are; Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, CRS, Government, Literature-in-English, and History.
11. Igbo
This discipline teaches on how to effectively speak and communicate in the Igbo language.
By studying this course one will be sound in the Igbo language.
The course has been designed to be interactive. Broadcasting and TV demand for graduates of this discipline increased the rush by students for this course.
However, this course is an easy one to study particularly for students of Igbo extraction.
The O-level requirement for this discipline are; Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Igbo Language, Government, Literature-in-English, and History. At least a pass in Mathematics.
12. Fisheries, Forestry, and Wildlife
This is yet another easy course to study at the university. It is not all that competitive, however, it is lucrative too.
Actually, Fisheries, Forestry, and Wildlife is a department under the faculty of Agriculture in most universities.
According to my research, fishery is an entity engaged in harvesting fish that is determined by some authority to be a fishery.
The prerequisite for studying are Five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Mathematics, and any other social science subject.
Conclusion Easiest Course to Study in Nigeria Universities
That a course is easy does not mean that one will not study or that one will become lazy on the course of studies. Every academic effort requires good effort to achieve success.
